Intruduction

Mongolian studies has always been a leading research direction at MNUE. In this, the senior scholars of previous generations played a significant role and earned the distinguished honor of being considered one of the three cornerstones of Mongolian studies in our country. The Mongolian Studies at MNUE was an independent faculty called the 'School of Mongolian Studies' from 2003 to 2014, under the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, which is a constituent school of MNUE, there was the 'Center for Mongolian Studies' from 2014 to 2023, and since 2023, it has likewise been functioning here under the name “Institute for Mongolian Studies”.

In 2010, under the School of Mongolian Studies, the 'Mongolian Script and Culture Archive' was first initiated and established to focus on written monuments. Since 2024, this archive has been officially placed under the Institute for Mongolian Studies and renamed the' Its activities are being further expanded and improved with the aim of enriching the repository, enhancing the capacity of Mongolian Studies at MNUE, and making it accessible for advanced-level students as well as domestic and international scholars.

The main functions of our institute are: to conduct fundamental and applied research at both national and international levels in the priority research areas of MNUE; to expand cooperation with domestic and foreign universities and institutes engaged in similar research, including their branches; to initiate and implement joint projects and programs at the school, national and international levels, and to apply the results in practice; to publish articles and works in peer-reviewed journals and recognized publishing houses at national and international levels;organize academic conferences, discussions, and seminars at MNUE and its constituent schools (bothe at the university and school levels) as well as national and international levels, either independentle or jointly; ensure the coordination and integration of MNUE's research, teaching, production, and innovation activities; support the professional development of young researchers and academic staff; and organize a series of training s-ssions and lectures designed to inform society and enhance the professional knowledge and education of scholars, teachers, and postgraduate students.
